Dunaway started as a surveying firm in 1956.

Over the past 68 years, we have surveyed several hundreds of miles of TxDOT, county, and municipal roadway throughout Texas. As a multi-discipline firm, we are proud to continue Dunaway’s legacy of excellence and innovation in surveying with the addition of Davey Edwards, PhD, PLS LSLS CFedS as the newest member of our North Texas team. We believe that the addition of Davey is impactful, not only to Dunaway but to our survey line of business as a whole.

Davey Edwards is a professional land surveyor in Texas and Oklahoma, a Texas-licensed state land surveyor, and a U.S. Federal land surveyor. A graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas and Texas A&M, Davey joins Dunaway as a Technical Director in our survey department, bringing over two decades of expertise in the public analysis of land and geospatial information.  

As a Technical Director, Davey will utilize his experience as an adjunct professor in the Geographic Information Science undergraduate and Geospatial Systems Engineering graduate programs at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to continue to strengthen the development of Dunaway’s surveying team through mentorship, training, and education. “The Dunaway team has given me an amazing opportunity and I look forward to providing my expertise in surveying and educational mentorship to their well-established organization.” explains Davey.

Additionally, in his role as Technical Director, Davey will serve to enhance our presence in Texas and beyond through his significant engagement in various organizations. He currently serves as President of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), which advocates for the professional surveying community at both the national and state level. He also served as the former director of the Texas Spatial Reference Center, and as the State of Texas Geodetic Coordinator for the U.S. National Geodetic Survey. 

Davey’s experience and market presence highlight the depth of knowledge and leadership he brings to Dunaway’s survey department and the industry at large. As Dunaway’s own Survey Line of Business Executive and Principal, Alan Moore, RPLS, explains, “We’re excited about the expertise and depth of knowledge of Texas Surveying that Davey brings to our team. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on our ability to do some heavy lifting for our clients.”
