The Duncan Neighborhood Park project scope included a plan to address floodplain mitigation, habitat restoration, circulation, enhanced recreation, and ROW improvements. The park is situated along the Shoal Creek Greenbelt and is bisected by West 9th Street into two distinct sections. The project focused on landscape improvements for the north section of the park. The plan incorporated the recommendations outlined in the 2010 Downtown Parks and Open Space Master Plan, which includes a children’s play area, Great Streets, and slope stabilization.

Dunaway’s civil engineering services included assistance with planning and evaluation for Duncan Neighborhood Park and coordination with the Landscape Architect for civil design elements. The work included addressing utilities and infrastructure, floodplain mitigation and volume balance, critical environmental features, and permitting for the site. Dunaway prepared design drawings for grading, wetland enhancement, ADA accessible routes, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control, and slope stabilization.
