The Dunaway team worked closely with the City of Dallas to deliver the long-awaited Phase 2 extension of the Lake Highlands Trail in North Dallas. This ambitious project introduced a new concrete path that connects the White Rock Creek Trail at Harry S. Moss Park to Arbor Park along Skillman, weaving through scenic green spaces, utility easements, and street rights-of-way to link thousands of residents to the city’s expanding trail network. Key features include a signalized pedestrian crossing and gateway at Abrams Road, plus elevated concrete boardwalk systems designed to navigate floodplain areas.

The extension also creates vital connections, linking trail segments near Lake Highlands High School to the Lake Highlands DART Station, offering residents enhanced access to non-motorized mobility options. All construction plans were developed and reviewed to meet TxDOT standards, ensuring compliance and eligibility for state funding.
