Colony Park District Park is located within the Colony Park Sustainable Community Development, a 208- acre master planned community owned by the City of Austin. More than a recreational space – it’s becoming a shared front yard for a growing neighborhood. Set alongside an elementary school and recreation center, the park is designed to bring people together through safe, accessible trails, improved connections for walking and biking, and open spaces that invite everyday use. Thoughtful infrastructure – from ADA-accessible routes to floodplain improvements – helps knit the surrounding community together, making it easier for families, students, and neighbors to move through and enjoy the area.

At its heart, the park creates opportunities for connection and play. Multi-use fields, a baseball field, and an all-ages playground give residents spaces to gather, be active, and build community. At the same time, sustainable design features like rain gardens and native landscaping quietly improve environmental resilience – managing stormwater naturally and reducing long-term maintenance needs. Together, these elements transform the site into more than a park; they create a place where healthy living, environmental stewardship, and community life can grow side by side.
