AC Hotel by Marriott Waco

The AC Hotel and conference center includes a 5 story, 182 room hotel with an attached 17,000 square foot conference center. Dunaway provided structural engineering services on the hotel structure, which consists of a steel-framed podium with a load-bearing light gauge above. Located in Waco, Texas, the conference center features 80-inch clear spans to allow the entire area to be open without any columns. Three stories of the hotel sit atop a portion of the conference center, resulting in large trusses to transfer the loads across the open space. Also on the site is a two-story, steel-framed retail/restaurant and a 5-level, 327 car, precast garage.
