Senior Project Manager | Associate
Austin Carr is an Associate and Senior Project Manager for Dunaway’s Civil group in the Austin office. His experience includes civil engineering design and permitting for projects across the state of Texas. Austin specializes in land and site development projects in central and north Texas, working with local, state, and federal jurisdictions to bring projects to fruition. He has also been involved in managing projects for clients such as the City of Fort Worth – Public Events, Cook Children’s Medical Center, Jetta Operating, Elgin ISD, Central Health (Travis County Hospital District), as well as numerous private owners/developers. Austin enjoys consulting and advising clients as they navigate the development process.

Why did you choose this career?
Growing up, various family members were in the construction industry and I grew to appreciate seeing raw land transform into an additive place for the community to gather. As I've grown in my career, I also enjoyed the opportunity to train younger engineers and grow project teams!
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?
In my spare time I enjoy playing golf. I enjoy the challenge of the strategy and execution test it presents and is an outlet for my competitiveness. I'd love to go on a two-week Scotland/Ireland golf trip! Outside of golf, I enjoy spending time with my wife and growing family, cooking/BBQing, reading, and traveling.
Do you have a favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Christmas - closely followed by Thanksgiving. I enjoy the time spent with family and close friends. Its one of the few times a year when everyone is able to come together and relax.
What was your first job?
First job was a summer job on the maintenance crew of a baseball field complex. Mowed, dragged, and prepared fields for play!
