Q+A
Why did you choose this career?
I've been drawing since before I can remember. I've also been known to fuss over minutiae. This career path is a pretty delightful marriage of the expressive and the detail-oriented. Landscape Architecture and Urban Design in particular provide a forum to both learn from complex communities and work toward people-designed outcomes. Also, I was told there would be less math.
What Core Value resonates with you the most?
The idea of Attitude of Service grabbed hold of me early and has never let go. Whether through professional work, advocacy, or other local engagement, I believe designers have the responsibility to be community servants.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?
My backyard garden is a laboratory and definitely a work in progress. You'll find me there many weekend mornings. Besides that, you might find me bouldering, playing guitar, or talking about how much I love going camping and hiking.
