The winner of the 2021 ULI Impact Award for Best Project Design is Alliance Children’s Garden, a 2-acre recreational play area that is part of the Town Lake Master Plan adopted by the Austin City Council in 1999. Located within Butler Park in downtown Austin, Alliance has unique features that represent Austin’s culture – offering visitors a rich environment for active exploration and creative play to support physical, mental, and sensory development capabilities for both children and adults.
Dunaway partnered with TBG Partners to provide planning and civil engineering services on the project, including the demolition and construction of utilities, grading, drainage, and accessibility. Additionally, Dunaway prepared design documents, construction documents, site development permitting, bidding, and construction phase services.
