Dunaway provided structural engineering services for the 145,000 square foot, two-story Bobby Summers Middle School located in Royse City ISD. Completed in time for the 2020-2021 school year, the building consists of structural steel framing and a load-bearing construction masonry unit with a structurally suspended slab over void space to guard against highly expansive soils. The building also includes a concrete ICC-500 compliant storm shelter designed by Dunaway.
