City of Odessa Traffic Signal Timing

The City of Odessa retained Dunaway to perform a Traffic Signal Timing (TST) study for 13 traffic signals along East 42nd Street (SH 191) between North County Road West, and the SH 191 and SH 338 interchange in Odessa. For each intersection, Dunaway collected and verified roadway information, reviewed peak-hour turning movement data, and collected field measurements and calculations for red/yellow signal lights and pedestrian timings.  

Several unique timing plans were determined based on the 48-hour traffic volume of the corridor provided by the city, and a Synchro Model was created with identified travel time runs to calibrate the models according to the time of day. Dunaway proposed an optimized system and provided a traffic signal Time of Day Plan to the City of Odessa.
