As John Peter Smith Hospital (JPS) expands and builds upon its resources, Dunaway has continued its long history working with the organization on successful projects that have included parking facility improvements, gardens, asbestos abatement, and crosswalk rehabilitation.

Dunaway has completed services to improve multiple parking facilities, which included the demolition of an existing parking structure to add 500 spaces. Dunaway engineers provided paving and drainage design, survey services, and all public infrastructure improvements including upgrading existing outdated utilities to support proposed and future projects. Dunaway was on-site for construction administration, development of a phased construction plan, and bidding and review of contractor submittals. Our team worked with the City of Fort Worth to define public and private cost sharing opportunities and to delineate private versus public utilities.

Dunaway also provided landscape architecture services for the Swati Gandhi Memorial Prayer Garden, located within a larger open space on the northeast corner of Allen and South Main Street across from the new JPS bed tower. The Garden was conceived as a healing garden in the memory of Swati Gandhi, who passed away from leukemia in 2010. Dunaway worked closely with hospital donors and administration to select plant materials and hardscape features to create a positive and meaningful year-round experience for patients and visitors alike.
