Spirit Park

Currently branded “Spirit Park”, this unique addition to the Allen park system celebrates the “spirit” of play at all ages. Dunaway worked with the City of Allen on design development and construction documentation for a first phase of Watters Branch Community Park. Features include an artificial turf adult softball complex, restroom building and concession area, trail connections, and a custom-themed nature playground nestled in the woods along Watters Creek. The Dunaway team also worked closely with a City-selected artist to incorporate colorful, playful sculptures along a braided system of paths that connect the heart of park activities. Future phases will include lighted multi-use field areas, pedestrian bridge, trail connections, and an on-site maintenance facility for park staff use.
