Sundance Square, Inc. has been steadily implementing portions of a 25-year master plan to continue its revitalization, working to make the best use of former parking lots and aging buildings. The Sundance Square Central Plaza and Cassidy Building renovation have transformed the heart of downtown Fort Worth, creating a regional destination for events, retail, commercial, and urban living.
Dunaway provided structural engineering, environmental engineering, traffic engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, and survey services on the project. The team designed improvements to the area’s 100-year-old infrastructure, provided site development for the Cassidy Building renovation, prepared traffic studies in anticipation of the plaza’s increased activity, and designed enhanced streetscape improvements. The Central Plaza encompasses two downtown blocks and runs into the 55,000 square feet open plaza. The multi-purpose space includes fountains, a stage, and large umbrellas for shade. The Cassidy Building, one of three buildings on the site, has brought new shopping, restaurants, and businesses to downtown Fort Worth.
