Q+A

Why did you choose this career?

I became fascinated with the construction of my parent’s house as a teenager. I taught myself how to read the plans, visited the house daily, and was constantly asking the architect questions. My mother saw my interest and took me to speak with the structural engineers at the company where she worked. They were easily able to convince me this was the path I needed to take.

What Core Value resonates with you the most?

Honesty. I take pride in always being honest with anyone I meet in my life and prefer to always be told the truth even if it’s not what I want to hear. I also feel being honest is the key way to developing great relationships in life, business or personal.

What has been your favorite project to work on during your career?

Celina High School Athletic Complex. I grew up in North Texas. Not only was Celina in our district but I have family that still live there. I enjoy having my projects nearby to give family/friends an idea of what exactly it is that I do.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?

I enjoy running and try to get in at least 4 miles every day. I also enjoy doing any type crafts and baking. On occasion, I will make custom cakes for friends and/or family. Think Ace of Cakes from Food Network. Except I’m not that good.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

My SS Camaro when I was 17 from my parents. I had dropped at least 100 hints for over a year and I was always told there was no chance that I would ever get that car. One random Saturday afternoon I came home from hanging out with friends and a brand-new SS Camaro was parked in the garage in my spot. I was so excited that I completely forgot to put my truck in park and it started rolling down the driveway. I still have this car parked at my parents’ house. I loved it so much my Dad refuses to sell it.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever recieved?

Stop worrying about what others think of you and just be yourself.
