Dunaway conducted surveying on a large 417-acre area for the DFW Runway 17R/35L reconstruction. Our team also used specialized techniques to locate over 450,000 linear feet of utilities within the runway area and conducted 120 high-quality test holes to check the conditions.
This runway is vital for DFW’s global flights, handling half of all departures. Due to increasing wear and tear, a full rehabilitation of the runway and its utilities is necessary. A detailed survey was carried out along the runway and nearby taxiways. The project also involved preparing a comprehensive record of all utilities for the runway’s redevelopment. Dunaway managed extensive coordination, including a utility conflict analysis and creating a detailed program narrative for the project’s bidding phase.
