Following an audit suggesting a replacement for the pool at Lee Park, the City of Irving contracted Dunaway to lead the public engagement, aquatic programming, and design of this family aquatic center. Confined to the footprint of the existing facility, Dunaway developed a creative layout, located in a tight footprint that meshed with the scale and character of the active community center in this mature neighborhood. Dunaway utilized neighborhood meetings and a robust online outreach program to develop a consensus plan, then led the multidisciplinary team through the design and engineering process for this 4,500-square-foot pool, new bathhouse, and modern filtration system. Amenities include a beach entry pool with a custom fabric shade canopy, lap lanes, and water toys, including sprays, slides, and basketball goals.
