Geyer Commons brings new life to a historic site, transforming the City of Mansfield’s first ballfield into a vibrant gathering place that connects past and present. Developed in partnership with Mansfield ISD, the project serves as a welcoming eastern gateway to Historic Downtown, where relocated and reconstructed historic homes now house local shops and restaurants. An artisan market, business incubator, and thoughtfully designed public spaces create opportunities for small businesses to grow while giving residents a place to gather, play, and connect.

Through Phase 1, Dunaway supported the creation of these community-focused amenities by delivering landscape architecture and civil engineering services for key elements including a splash pad and open fountain, the Makers Market, public restrooms, roadways, and parking. The project reflects a broader vision of reinvestment—where collaborative land exchanges between the City and school district unlocked access to this site, preserving its history while creating a shared destination that strengthens community identity and supports long-term local growth.
