Dunaway has seen significant progress since opening its doors in 1956. Poised for growth in the Central Texas region, Dunaway opened our Austin office in 2015 and our newest office in San Antonio shortly after in 2017, after acquiring MLA in 2016.

The Greenline – 2020 Texas ASLA Merit Award

Over the past two decades, Dunaway staff has developed professional relationships with contractors and has overseen the construction of various projects for the City of San Antonio and other local agencies, such as the San Antonio River Authority (SARA). In recent years, Dunaway has provided services to SARA on the design and construction of the Escondido Creek Parkway and Westside Creeks Alazan trail. As the landscape architects on The Greenline Park at Brooks City Base, Dunaway helped to transform an abandoned golf course into a linear nature park, earning them a 2020 Merit Award by Texas ASLA. Currently, Dunaway’s service lines are joining forces to work with the World Heritage office to develop the World Heritage Center, in addition to the World Heritage wayfinding and signage along the routes to the Missions. Other notable local projects include Greenies Urban Farm for Bexar County, and the Berkley V. & Vincent M. Dawson Park adjacent to Hays Street Bridge.

Our growth in Central Texas doesn’t show signs of stopping, either. Dunaway’s local staff and service lines have recently expanded with the exciting addition of Nolan Woyner, PE to our San Antonio team. Nolan is an Associate here at Dunaway and has served as a Discipline Lead in Dunaway’s structural department in Austin for six years, where he has managed a variety of projects across multiple market sectors including healthcare, K-12 and higher education, religious, and commercial projects.

Nolan’s relocation to our San Antonio office is a key move, as it enhances our ability to better serve San Antonio through the addition of Structural Engineering to our local services lines. As Nolan notes,“I’m excited to join Dunaway’s San Antonio team and help build a structural presence in town. There’s incredible energy right now in the San Antonio development scene, and I’m grateful and excited to be a part of the city’s future as a Dunaway team member.” In addition to his management responsibilities, Nolan will continue to provide structural design, analysis, and construction administration services for projects located in Central Texas and beyond.

“Dunaway has an amazing culture, and we integrate our firm values into the services we provide to our clients on every project,” explains Lauren Setterbo, Business Development Director of Dunaway’s San Antonio office. “The addition of structural engineering to San Antonio will be impactful in this market as we bring ‘next level’ design skills and service – the kind that can only be achieved from working alongside a Dunaway team.”

We’re proud of work the work we’re doing in San Antonio and we look forward to continuing to make an impact in Central Texas in the years ahead.
