Project Engineer

Daniel Gonzalez is a Project Engineer at Dunaway’s Houston office, driven by a deep-rooted passion for structural engineering inspired by his father’s work as a bricklayer. He earned his master’s degree in engineering from Texas A&M in 2019 and obtained his PE license in 2022. Before joining Dunaway, Daniel spent five years at SCA Consulting Engineers in Houston, advancing from EIT to Senior Associate. In his current role, he leads EITs and collaborates with drafting teams and external stakeholders to deliver projects from schematic design through construction completion. Daniel has extensive experience designing a variety of building types using wood, light-gauge steel, masonry, concrete, steel, and hybrid construction materials. He is proficient in structural engineering software such as RAM, ETABS, and RISA, and is skilled in hand calculations and developing complex spreadsheets to enhance the design process.

Unofficially, I was a bricklayer’s assistant for my dad; officially, a sales intern.
