Rebecca Glucksman is a Discipline Lead in the Structural Department at Dunaway’s Dallas office. She pursued a career in engineering because she enjoys designing structures that can have a lasting, positive impact on communities and loves to follow the design process from its initial idea through to the end of construction. Rebecca holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s degree from Purdue University. She is a licensed professional engineer in Texas. Prior to joining Dunaway, Rebecca worked at Walter P Moore, where she specialized in repairs and renovations to existing structures, structural assessments, and non-destructive testing. In her current role, Rebecca continues to focus on existing structures, leveraging her extensive experience to lead the structural team effectively.

Why did you choose this career?

I love being able to design a structure that creates a lasting impact on a community. I think one of the satisfying parts of our job is being able to see the project through from conception to completion.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?

My favorite things to do outside of work are walk my dog and explore new places.

Where is your favorite place in the world?

My favorite place is Sorrento, Italy. I visited last summer. The water, cliffs, and food were all amazing!

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

The best gift I've ever received is a cookbook of my favorite home cooked recipes. I received it as a graduation gift before moving away.

What was your first job?

My first job, besides babysitting, was at an ice cream shop that also served food. It was called the Summer House.
