The park planning + design team at Dunaway recently partnered with the City of Plano to create a new master plan and design services for updates to Caddo Park – an established neighborhood park with mature shade trees and open lawn spaces along the Pittman Creek waterway. Already a popular destination for nearby residents, the park also serves Davis Elementary School students who enjoy playing here during recess and after school.

The team worked with City staff and Plano residents to analyze current park conditions, develop a program of design elements, compare conceptual alternatives, and prepare a final master plan of improvements.

New features include a newly updated playground, picnic shelters, a trail loop, fitness stations, and passive seating stations under shade trees along the trail. Dunaway engineers and environmental scientists also worked closely with the design team to ensure new improvements are located with Pittman Creek flood events in mind and in a manner sensitive to the existing riparian habitat
