Dunaway provided civil engineering services for the City of Cedar Park’s new Cedar Park Public Library. The new facility, which is 47,000 square feet—nearly twice as large as the previous library—features additional program space, classrooms and conference rooms, quiet spaces, new technology, capacity for more materials, and increased parking capacity.
The property is connected by the soon-to-be 16-acre Bell Park. The demand for library services and programs has increased, and the new facility offers more space and opportunities to accommodate this growth. The current library closed to move over materials and transition staff to the new facility. The new library’s courtyard space is surrounded by dozens of large heritage trees and includes a fenced youth area, gathering spaces, contemplation spaces, and an exterior fountain.
