The historic Armour & Co. meat packing plant, originally constructed in 1943 and expanded in 1951, remains a defining landmark within the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. Its transformation into the new headquarters for U.S. Energy Corporation required close coordination with the City of Fort Worth and the Texas Historical Commission to ensure the building’s historic character was preserved.

Dunaway provided civil engineering, planning, landscape architecture, and surveying services to support the adaptive reuse of the site. The design introduces exterior and rooftop courtyards, enhanced streetscapes with native plantings and pedestrian lighting, and carefully curated materials that complement the historic architecture—creating functional, resilient, and welcoming spaces that connect the building to its vibrant surroundings.
