Dunaway provided civil engineering and planning and landscape architecture design services for the Fort Worth Zoo’s Elephant Springs exhibit. As part of a 3-acre renovation of the elephant exhibit—featuring a new 400,000-gallon pool—Dunaway provided design services for a series of timber-framed viewing structures, boardwalks, and piers. These elements were carefully crafted to balance immersive theming, visitor functionality, and long-term structural integrity. The project also included a 10,000-square-foot expansion of the existing concrete elephant barn and the design of more than 2,500 linear feet of animal barrier fencing to ensure safety and containment throughout the exhibit.
