Matt Ship brings over two decades of engineering expertise to his role as a discipline lead at Dunaway, with a rich history in the oil and gas industry and a recent focus on electrical utilities engineering. His career includes 11 years as a field engineer with Gyro/Data and Pathfinder SLB, 3 years in optimization engineering with NOV Downhole, and operations management and well planning in directional drilling. Matt also has experience in technical sales and project management in oil and gas exploration and production, and 3 years as a project manager with Power Engineers. He specializes in large-scale projects and is excited about contributing to his community through Dunaway’s value-driven projects. Matt holds a BS in Industrial Technology from the University of Texas Permian Basin and is now responsible for managing projects from proposal to completion at Dunaway.

Why did you choose this career?

I love helping people achieve their goals, whether it be a new power line, a challenging construction job, or new technology. Getting to manage these projects from inception to completion with the highest possible quality standards is the most satisfying feeling in the world.

What Core Value resonates with you the most?

I identify with Attitude of Service the most. In any business, I believe we are here to serve people, whether it be the client or the people affected by my projects. Service encompasses the attitude of doing quality work time and time again.

Do you have a favorite holiday?

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love it because I get to spend time with my whole family and "reset" for the coming year.
