Q+A
Why did you choose this career?
I've always loved the outdoors, and always had a creative streak. I sought out this career because I wanted to be able to combine those two passions. After having worked as a landscape architect for awhile now, I'd say what I love the most is that we get to creatively problem solve, and use a wide variety of skills each day.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?
I spend most of my limited free time reading. I also like to garden, and am getting back into running after a multi-year hiatus. I also enjoy spending time outdoors with my kids, husband and dog.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
I really love West Texas and the Big Bend area. I love the unique ecosystem of the place, and you can't beat the star-gazing.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
My husband got me tickets to an international art fair in Mexico a couple of years ago. We got to see work from and meet up and coming artists from all over the world, it was amazing!
What was your first job?
I worked as a waitress at a brunch restaurant during the summers in high school. I smelled like maple syrup all summer long.
