Q+A

What has been your favorite project to work on during your career?

The African Savanna project is the most rewarding project on which I’ve ever been able to work because of the transformative nature of the design and its impact on the community. Few people realize that the site was previously a flat soccer field, and it is now a must-see destination for visitors to Fort Worth. Our team of creative professionals seamlessly integrates technical design solutions that enhance the visitor’s experience allowing them to view and interact with animals like never before.

What Core Value resonates with you the most?

Respect is critical to success in all aspects of life. On projects, a team working together with mutual attitude of respect can overcome any project challenges and will lead to success for all parties involved.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?

I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and kids. Swimming and traveling are family favorites. We try to hit at least one major City, with a new Zoo and museum each year.

Where is your favorite place in the world?

There is no place I’d rather be than on the beach in Hawaii. I grew up in a military family and was fortunate to have spent four years of my life on Oahu. As youngsters, my brother and I lived the island life, learning to surf and sail.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

As a kid, I got a Visual Dictionary, a book that illustrates and labels every component of everything imaginable. You name it; Buildings, machines, space, earth, animals, and people. I still flip through it occasionally and each time I do I learn something new.

What is the most daring thing you've ever done?

Picked a snowball fight with the entire high school football team. I didn’t win, but I got away.
