Q+A
Why did you choose this career?
I chose this career because I like performing tasks that are challenging and allow me to think. I come from a family of Greek heritage, so embracing my ancestral skills in architecture and engineering has somewhat been ingrained in me ever since I was young. I chose structural engineering because it's the best of both worlds and it's a job where I'll always be learning something new, even 20 years down the line.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?
I enjoy hanging out with friends and going to music festivals. I am also looking for a space to DJ new in Austin on the weekends! I also do a healthy amount of traveling with my friends and family. My bucket list trip is to fly down to Antarctica and hanging out with the penguins!
Where is your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world (so far) is Mexico City. I recently visited for the first time and it completely exceeded my expectations. The food, the culture, the architecture, and the people are so beautiful. It's the largest city in North America, so there's always something to do. I can't wait to go back and explore more.
Do you have a favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Halloween! I've always loved all things dark and spooky. Plus, it's so fun to dress up and go out! I love seeing how creative and funny people can be with their costumes. It truly makes me feel like a kid again.
What was your first job?
My first job was at The Kolache Factory. My shift started at 4am, and then I would go to school at 8am. I was the barista, so I learned how to make some really yummy coffee!
