Discipline Lead

Miguel serves as a Discipline Lead in Dunaway’s Houston office. In his current role, he manages the technical and operational sides of residential projects to help ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest quality. Miguel also provides resource management, task management, and support to the Houston structural team. His experience includes custom homes, patio additions, swimming pools, monuments, light posts, and municipal structures.

Why did you choose this career?

Back in my hometown of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I had the opportunity to work for a bridge construction company. My responsibilities included creating shop drawings for reinforced concrete structures and steel connections, as well as inspecting these elements in the field for approval. I found the work fascinating and enjoyed the experience.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

I played volleyball when I was younger and had the honor of representing the Honduras National Team on a few occasions. It was all made possible by the time and advice gifted to me by my coaches.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any interesting hobbies?

I like to jog by the bayou, watch movies, play guitar, and sometimes mountain bike!

What was your first job?

I worked for an engineering company called INCAH creating budgets to bid for government work.

What makes you laugh the most?

I like memes and sarcastic shows like The Office!
