Dunaway’s Midland office opened its doors in 2012 and has been offering a range of services to our West Texas clients ever since. This October marked the tenth anniversary of the office, and the team celebrated in style. Join us as we reflect on the celebration and all the progress made over these past ten years.

During our time in Midland, we have had the unique privilege, as professionals and as citizens, of supporting unprecedented growth and having a transformational impact on the community. Our west Texas team, with their extensive experience in planning, design, and project execution has always risen to the occasion, resulting in successful projects for the City of Midland, Midland Health, and City of Midland Utilities. In addition, our team has designed more than 100 miles of Midland County Road, as well as various projects for the City of Odessa Engineering and Parks & Recreation and school districts such as Waco ISD and Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD, to name a few.

“At Dunaway, we look at each project as one piece of the fabric of a developing community. We always consider how it will impact not only our clients and their goals but the region as a whole –” explains Tim Hair, RLA, ASLA, Regional Executive of our Midland office.

However, it’s not just our technical capabilities or local knowledge that sets us apart. Our greatest advantage as a firm is our culture and the questions we ask. As Regional Executive and head of our Midland Office, Tim Hair, RLA, ASLA explains, “creating a technical set of drawings to build a project is a baseline, and we do that very well. But we always take the time to ask ourselves, “Who is this project for?” “What are our clients’ goals? Who will be occupying, using, and maintaining this hospital, school, park, or office 20 years from now? And beyond that – how can we build a consulting firm that answers and optimizes those questions while also being the best place for our team members to build a career?”

During the celebration last month, we recognized our team members and the growth we have made over this past decade. Looking forward, we can’t wait to see what the next ten years hold. “Our decision to start a Midland office ten years ago was centered around the idea that this region needed a local trusted partner that it could rely on,” recalls Dunaway CEO, Chris Wilde, PE. “Fast forward to today, and Dunaway has become a leading multidiscipline design firm for clients across West Texas.”
